Real and Surreal Cake Contest Are you a cheesecake, a beefcake, a fruitcake or just a flake? Bring your real and surreal cake creations to Art's Birthday, January 14th at Video Pool. Cakes will be judged on their artistic and culinary merits by local food and art critics. Cakes in any category may be edible or inedible, 2D or 3D (or even 4D!), real or surreal. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: The Hal and Joanne Foster Body Break Award for the cake most likely to contain vitamins or beneficial nutrients The Stanley Cup for the cake with the 'smoothest' icing The Bell Canada Titanium Timbit for the cake project most likely to receive Canada Council funding The Darwin Award for the most primordial cake reflecting art's humble origins 100, 000, 043 years ago. The Blizzard Award for the cake most likely to have been purchased at a St. Vital Dairy Queen The Istvan Kantor Li'l Debbie Log d'Or for the cake that causes the most intense reaction in the beholder's/taster's genital region Cakes can be dropped off at Video Pool's 3rd floor studio on Friday, January 13th or Saturday, January 14th during regular hours.
